CJA CERAMICS

CHRISTOPHER JAMES ALEXANDER CREATES ONE-OF-A-KIND, WHEEL-THROWN VASES AND BOWLS IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.
My ceramics adventure began when my parents signed me up for my first afterschool class at the Pot Shop in Evanston, Illinois. Over the next couple of years, the studio’s patient and wise owner, Dominic Mosca, taught me all about the wonders of creating with clay.
I continued learning how to work on the wheel in high school and at George Washington University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts and Art History.
In 2021, I rediscovered my passion for pottery at Good Dirt L.A. My collaboration with the studio’s talented owner, Lina Alvarez, and her excellent team, has allowed me to explore new forms and distinctive glazes inspired by my love of architecture and my Mediterranean roots.
I’m delighted to be a founding participant of Form + Craft, a series of pop-up markets and creative community gatherings hosted by my visionary friends, Manori Sumanasinghe and Nelson Abreu.
I’m grateful for all of the guidance and encouragement I’ve received from my thoughtful teachers, family, and friends, and I’m excited to continue sharing my pots with people around the globe.
Please visit the CJA Ceramics Shop to check out all of my available designs!
My vases and bowls may also be purchased at Studio (SUM)Thing, located just a few steps away from the heroic Bruce Lee statue in Los Angeles’s historic Chinatown Central Plaza.
