CJA CREATIVE COLLABORATIONS PARTNERED WITH AWARD-WINNING ARCHITECTURE FIRM LORCAN O’HERLIHY ARCHITECTS [LOHA] AND GLORIA GERACE TO CREATE A PUBLICATION THAT SERVED AS AN EMPOWERING PLATFORM FOR LOHA’S SUCCESSFUL EVOLUTION INTO ONE OF THE FINEST ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN DESIGN FIRMS IN THE UNITED STATES.
Amplified Urbanism features essays, poems, photographs, and drawings that articulate LOHA’s commitment to “reimagine the creative interaction between public and private space, emphasize social and civic connections, and work within existing ecological and infrastructural patterns.”
In addition to serving as the publication’s co-creative director and co-managing editor, Christopher James Alexander wrote the essay, “Ruthlessly Optimistic Architecture: Exploring LOHA’s Urban Impact.” The chapter highlights the firm’s growth and influential designs through four themes: Main Street Laboratories, Materialized Open Space, Designing Responsive Density, and Advancing Detroit’s Resurgence.
